Ebone
Ebone (European Backbone) was a pan-European IP backbone, set up by a group of National Research and Education Networks. Later on Ebone also had commercial members. It went online in September 1992 (in parallel with EuropaNET) and was deactivated in July 2002.

European Multi-Protocol Backbone (Europanet backbone network): provided by PTT Telecom/Unisource; set up in October 1992, offering a 2Mbps multiprotocol (X.25, IP, CLNS) service to all COSINE countries.
